But not sure about the mind always projecting a brighter future, maybe an optimistic mind would, but that kind of statement would be sidelining the pessimistic thinkers out there. For me a skeptical mind is one from which great thought can arise, regardles of whether it's for the better or for worse. I agree, the meditator does get in the way. We escape because we don't want to be there. Notice how the mind will always project a future that's better than where you are, that's more fulfilling, that's anything but where you are. To meditate is so very essential and yet the meditator keeps getting in the way - he's out to sabotage, as it were.
