Review: Envirofit Jute Yoga Mat

Envirofit Jute Yoga MatThere was a time when yoga was a medium for one to unite with the universal soul through channeling together ones mind, body, and soul. Those days are long gone, and in today’s over commercialized, desire brimming world, yoga is a huge money making machine, with US consumers alone spending over $3 billion on Yoga related products and services. With that level of consumption , today’s version of yoga seems to have lost it’s soul, and is probably a burden on the environment. (more…)

Good Karma Total
$1493.00

This is the first program to be added to the Good Karma section.

This program makes it possible for an individual to sponsor the cost of education or total living expense for one underprivileged child in India. The aim is to support this child financially till he completes college or vocational education and is able to support himself. You can become a sponsor for a child in India for as little as $10 a month.

Currently this program is being run by several Asha chapters. This program is solely meant for individual donors to be directly connected to a child at an Asha supported project. Asha for Education is not involved with any adoption process through this program.

For more information on how to support a child, visit the Asha for Education site.

You can track the progress of the donations and children being supported here.

Good Karma for Last Month
$210.00

Inspired by “Sponsoring Charity” section in Thame’s blog, erraticwisdom, I am adding a Good Karma section to the blog.

Starting today, all ad and affiliates revenue from the blog, will go towards charity programs listed in the Good Karma section. I believe in an interactive form of charity, where you can see where your contributions are going, how it is used, and track the impact of your contributions. The section will be transparent; you can view the status of Good Karma in this post.

If you are interested in sponsoring or advertising on Karmadude.com, get in touch with us through the advertising section.

If you have come across a charity program, which you think needs to be on here, add a comment with details. The charity program will be reviewed, and upon approval, it will be added to the Good Karma section.

Ecological Footprint

I came across this interesting stat todayif the whole world had a consumption rate equivalent to that of the US, then we would need four Earths to sustain that kind of consumption. That makes the future look very bleak, maybe not for us, but for our future generations. With population growth, and economies like India and China on the rise, there is no end in sight to our level of consumption.
